Tochigi Golden Braves Sumi-e Live Performance
On August 16, 2026, a game between the Tochigi Golden Braves and the Shinano Grandserows took place at Koyama Sports Park Baseball Stadium.
“Sumi-e” (ink wash painting) artist Shu Arakawa—who creates his art without using a brush—held live performance sessions both outside and inside the stadium.
Outside the stadium, Arakawa painted a rising dragon around the Golden Braves’ “ONE HEART 10th” concept logo and hosted an interactive event where attendees wrote their “dreams” on a display board.
Golden Braves players, staff, and company representatives also contributed their own dreams to the board.
A powerful “Dream Board,”
filled with a multitude of dreams, was completed.
And, speaking of the area outside the stadium…
Limited-edition towels featuring a collaboration between the Tochigi Golden Braves and Shu Arakawa were also on sale.
These rare and stylish towels feature designs—including the names of all players and the manager, the “ONE HEART 10th” concept, and the team name—all hand-drawn by the artist using only his fingers.
Then, during the opening ceremony at the venue, I performed a live finger-ink painting demonstration; fitting for the “Golden Braves” team, I created a piece featuring the character for “Dream” (yume) written in gold ink, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
I will be cheering for the continued success of the Tochigi Golden Braves. Go! Aim for the national championship!
