Kenichi Tatezawa, a GIA (Gemological Institute of America) member and former CEO of HSBC Securities, collaborated on a piece titled “Sayume,” a rising dragon, which was exhibited at the National Art Center, Tokyo from May 15th to 24th. The artwork was displayed under strict security and received the International Junior Art Award. Rare yellow diamonds are used in the dragon’s eyes and the artist’s seal. It suffered significant tsunami damage during the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011, but has since recovered and the entire city is beautiful again. Historically, Ishinomaki was originally the base of Kasai Harutane, but later Date Masamune incited former retainers of Kasai and Osaki to revolt, which was discovered by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
