How are you all spending your New Year’s holiday?
On January 1st, we’ll be hosting a live performance of Japanese drumming and ink painting at Hojuin Temple/Hoju Nursery School in Nikko.
It’s sure to be a fantastic day right from the start! There will also be a goma fire ritual and a raffle.
There will also be freshly brewed coffee, amazake (sweet sake), and a grab-and-go snack.
Arakawa Tsubasa ink painting products will also be on sale.
Come visit Hojuin Temple on New Year’s Day. Come see the dynamic live painting and bring your best luck!

It was the perfect New Year’s Day live painting event. Performing alongside world-renowned taiko drummer Ichitaro, the sounds of the taiko drums and sutras were truly moving, and we are truly pleased that it was such a wonderful goma fire ritual event.
